Frequently asked questions
How many dogs will you walk at a time?
When it comes to group walks we can walk up to 6 dogs at a time, however please note that only suitable dogs will be accepted for group walks depending on their temperament and how they interact with other dogs. Group walks are a fantastic way for your dog to socialise and gain their confidence around other dogs. Please see my services page for more information.
How long will my dog be walked for?
Group walks will be a minimum of 1 hour, not including pick up and drop off. If you would like a solo walk for your dog you can request 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour.
Can I just have occasional walks for my dog?
Absolutely, we are extremely flexible and walks can be booked in as and when you need them.
Do you care for other animals apart from dogs?
Yes! Our pet visits are suitable for all kinds of animals, I have a vast amount of experience having owned dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes and lizards!
Which areas do you cover?
The areas we cover include Knighton, Clarendon Park, Stoneygate, Aylestone, Oadby, Wigston and Evington. If you live somewhere not listed above please feel free to give us a call as we may still be able to accommodate you.
Do we give you keys to our home?
Most owners choose to provide us with a key to their home in order for us to undertake pet visits, home sitting or collect your doggies for a walk. Alternatively you may have a lock box which you wish to use, in which case we can safely pop the key back after each visit. Please be assured that any keys given to us will be stored securely in a safe, and will contain no details on them other than your pets name.
How do I get started?
You can either email us or call anytime on 07522058699, we will always try and respond as promptly as possible. Before we can undertake any pet care we will pop round for a Meet & Greet to meet yourselves and your furry friends, this is a very informal chat where we can discuss any specific requirements you may have, and we can also give you a bit more information on how everything works. Please note that Meet & Greet’s are completely free of charge, and there is no obligation to get any pet care booked in. It is a great opportunity for you to meet who will be caring for your beloved pets, we understand what a huge deal it is to ensure that they are getting the best possible care!
How will I know that my pet visit/walk has been completed?
After each pet visit and doggy walk you will receive an email with an update on all the kinds of fun and adventures that we got up to! The update will include a photo of your pet, as well as additional information such as where the walk has taken place, which furry friends they hung out with and if they have been fed (if required). For home sitting we will send you at least one update per day, however you may request as many as you like.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes! If you have more than one doggy being walked from the same household, you will only be charged an additional 50% per extra dog per walk (up to 3 dogs total). Also, if you book your dog onto 5 group or solo walks with us within the same week, the fifth walk will be half price!
Does my dog need any special equipment?
All we ask is that each dog has an ID tag fitted to their collar or harness, and a regular short lead. Please also note that if your dog cannot be walked off lead, but you would like them to be walked on a long line so that they still have plenty of space to be able to run around and play, they will also need to be wearing a harness for safety reasons. We will provide all treats, toys, long lines and poo bags.
What happens if it’s raining?
It’ll take more than a bit of wet weather to put us off of our doggy walking duties! All services will go ahead as planned unless there are any severe weather warnings in place such as storms or heat waves where it is unsafe to go out for a walk. In instances of severe weather we will switch your walk to a comfort visit to ensure that your dog still gets plenty of fuss, cuddles and a potty break.
Do you provide pet care on weekends?
Although our regular working hours are Monday to Friday, we do occasionally have availability on weekends at no extra charge. Should you require any services on a weekend you won’t be able to book online, so please give us a call so that we can have a quick chat.
What is home sitting?
Home sitting is a great alternative to boarding or kennels whilst you are away. Home sitting is live in care, so we will stay at your house over night and keep your pets company throughout the day, this has been proven to be far less stressful for your pets as they are in a comfortable and familiar environment. Please see our services page for more information.
What happens in an emergency?
In an emergency we will contact you immediately to discuss the situation. If we are unable to contact you and urgent veterinary attention is required we will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice, or alternatively the nearest vet depending on the circumstances.
